There are those who live relatively simple lives, others who must deal with complexity and wrenching change almost from birth. Eugene A. Aichroth lived the second sort of life, a life full of suffering and struggle. Yet he was one of those on whom nothing is lost, and he emerged in his later years with a keen memory, aware that his experience held value. That he had the courage and fortitude to set it down is a gift to us all; that he had the talent to render it so charmingly leaves us doubly gratified.
